Manual Lymphatic Drainage

The lymphatic system is part of the circulatory system, know as the body's "waste" disposal.  It clears away bacteria, excess water, cell debris, and proteins from the connective tissue and returns it to the bloodstream for removal by the kidneys.

Lymphatic drainage massage increases lymphatic circulation and helps detoxify the body.  Lymph capillaries have no valves, so the lymph flows in all directions and relies on the movement of smooth muscles to transport fluids through the lymph vessels.

Lymphatic vessels are critical for clearing fluid and inflammatory cells from inflamed tissues.

Surgical procedures (cosmetic, medical, or cancer treatments) can cause lymph fluid to build up in a particular area of the body causing swelling, a condition known as Lymphedema.

  MLD for cancer-related lymphedema
